Twitter will released the next services, it’s call Promoted Tweets. This advertising platform will start rolling out Tuesday afternoon, beginning with promoted tweets within Twitter Search results.

According to AdAge and The New York Times, the platform will allow businesses to insert themselves into the Twitter stream in order to rise above the noise. It will start with search results, but later on will enter both Twitter.com streams and third-party apps such as TweetDeck and Tweetie (acquired by Twitter last week). Witchcraft claim leads to deadly soccer riot: “A riot broke out at a soccer match in the Congo yesterday, apparently after one of the players was accused of using witchcraft. Thirteen people were killed, most of whom were teenagers. From the Associated Press:

Radio Okapi said police tried to control the violence at Matokeo stadium by firing into the air to protect their commander, who was hit in the head and wounded by fans.

The two local clubs involved were Socozaki and Nyuki System, the radio said.

Dozens of teenagers marched through Butembo’s dirt streets Monday in protest, and the regional governor, Julien Mpaluku, paid a visit to the hospital.

Cpt. Tim reports on this fun Flickr pool called Through the Viewfinder.

You basically make cool retro or vintage looking pictures by taking a picture through the viewfinder of an old top-down viewfinder camera, like a Duaflex.

The Flickr group with wonderful submissions and instructions on how to do it is here, and here is what I’ve been able to do after ordering an old camera on eBay.
